CGN, a central enterprise growing with China’s reform and opening-up, has experienced the development of the Chinese nuclear power industry.In 1979, the construction of Guangdong Daya Bay Nu-clear Power Plant began. In September 1994, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation was officially incorporated. It was renamed as China General Nuclear Power Corporation in April 2013.CGN is on a mission to develop clean energy to benefit mankind.It has been developing, operating and managing multiple clean energy projects across the globe featuring nuclear power, wind power and solar energy. CGN has also achieved sound development in nuclear technology, finance, public utilities, and energy-saving technologies.
CGN continued to be China’s largest and the world’s third largest nuclear power company, and the world’s largest nuclear power builder, in addition to being the owner of overseas gas and electricity projects with the largest installed capacity. It has become a key profit-making enterprise and a key profit-raising enterprise under the SASAC with its comprehensive performance ranking top among central enterprises in China. Till the end of August 2020, the total assets of CGN amounted to over CNY760.8 billion.Over 58 GW of clean energy capacity was installed and in operation with CGN as a holding company.
